I know you've heard that statement before.

I allowed myself to go into negativity - to be caught in a negative spin. (You can read all about why that is not necessarily a good thing in my article Negativity - Don't Get Caught in a Negative Spin.)

Even though I know better, and know how detrimental it can be, I allowed myself to get caught up in world events and to focus on what I perceive to be bad instead of what I perceive to be good.

This negative spin only lasted one day. I think that is pretty good since many people go into a negative spin and never get out of it. But it taught me alot.

How did I get there? Well I started caring alot about what is "wrong" in the United States. I started sharing my thoughts and getting angry about how war has never solved anything in the entire history of the universe, that I truly believe that 9/11 was an inside job, that Bush lost Florida and it is totally insane that he is even in the white house, and on and on and on.

Well. what did that do for me? It made me angry and depressed. It got me thinking about humans as victims from some outside evil force. It made my mind view things from a limited, dillusional place. It brought down my vibration. It wasn't a good thing. Unfortunately, it was a perfect example of what humans do to themselves all of the time by where they place their focus.

But in the midst of focusing on this dismal picture I had created of the world - not the Truth, but an illusion that existed only in my mind, my soul reached out for help. My soul always reaches out for assistance to bring me back into harmony and balance, back into alignment with Divine Truth. Yours does the same thing, you just have to really watch for the intuitive and subtle signs. Mine came in the form of an email - something I'm naturally going through numerous times each day. The soul is a clever thing isn't it? The email was from a dear comrade from Seattle, Daniel Jacobs. It helped me switch my focus.

We can view events any way we choose. Raven has a very interesting slant on the Bush administration, the election, and what is happening in the world right now. As he observes everything, he thinks Bush is doing exactly what he has agreed to do.

People are fed up. People are tired of sitting on the sidelines doing nothing but complain. The events of the Bush administration have caused people to get off their butts and make decisions about what is and is not O.K. It has spurred Americans into action. And that, he believes, is a very good thing.

On a microcosmic scale, often a person requires what I call a "metaphysical 2' x 4' up side the head" before they will look at their life and begin to make new choices and changes. They have to lose something they hold dear like their health, their wealth, a significant relationship, their job or status, etc. in order to wake up and realize that they aren't very happy about how their life is going. What they came in for - their blueprint - is not being manifest.

Perhaps this is the same thing at the macrocosmic level. Things are so out of hand. Things are so not O.K. that everyone is having to take a long hard look at what's important for the United States as a nation. The United States originally stood for liberty, truth, freedom, justice, prosperity, and the pursuit of happiness. And millions and millions of people immigrated here because of that. We have gotten way off track. This was not the blue print for America. We used to be viewed as the champions of justice and the helping nation.

We are no longer proud to be Americans. I've personally been ashamed of being American for as long as I can remember.

I'm one of those people who finds a spider in the house and captures it in a small plastic container to escort it outside unharmed. I have never been able to justify how the American ancestors treated the native people, the blacks, the chinese immigrants. I view all beings as equal. So I definitely view all races, all religions, all genders, all economic levels, all people of all careers or lack of careers equal with me.

The United States has been a melting pot for all of humanity. But instead of being inspired by and relishing the differences in cultures, beliefs, and traditions, we have been at odds with one another. Always comparing. Always judging. Always competing. It is done inside the nation and outside the nation.

And now the world hates the United States. We have lost our status. We have lost our glamour. And we have lost hope.

I could run away and move to another country. But I realize that I'm in the United States for a reason. I'm right here to make positive changes within myself and my nation to return both to their original divine blueprints of Truth.

When Bush declared war, regardless of what he or anyone else perceived as the reasons why, I refused to align myself with the United States. I felt more like a citizen of the world. All nations, all people are one. They are all important. One nation does not come before another. One nation does not have the right to invade another - whether it be for oil or fear or some warped view of what "God" wants.

I find myself aligning once again with the United States. Not the war monger, power over, manipulative, fear inducing machine it has become, but the ideal of what it can and has always been destined to be - a nation of hope.

We are the world leaders and what happens in the United States affects the entire world. Let's focus on that.

Let life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and true freedom ring for one and all.
