What a wild new year we are having
so far.
I find that humor and gratitude to
be very powerful allies. If they aren’t attributes that you
connect with often, I suggest that you strengthen your relationship
to them. It may come in handy in the days to come.
I find the number of people who read
this newsletter to be truly awe inspiring. When I checked
the stats recently, I discovered that there are now people
from over 90 countries reading it every month. Wow. It is
DeLightful to be connecting with each of you.
May you be blessed in the radiance
of the One. May you find joy, inspiration, and upliftment
in these words.
Close your eyes for a moment. Take
a few slow deep breaths and center yourself. Allow the Divine
loving energy of the Universe to use this communication to
assist you. Feel the loving, joy-filled, healing energy being
poured into you and your world in this moment.
Find something you are grateful for.
From that space, read these words and allow blessings to fill

STRESS OR DISTRESS, WHICH ARE YOU
DEALING WITH?

You will notice the title has the word
dis-stress. The reason for this is that stress is getting
a bad rep. Stress is actually good for us. It creates an environment
in which we can grow and expand ourselves, physically, mentally
and emotionally.
It is stress that provides us with
the opportunity for adaptation, which is growth.
Let’s look at the physical aspect for
a moment. In order for a person to get physically stronger
they have to exercise in a way that puts stress on their muscles.
This stress is increased as the body adapts and becomes stronger.
Weight lifting is called progressive resistance training.
That is because as the body adapts to the stress placed upon
it, the load is increased to create more stress, which in
turn creates more adaptation and an increase in strength.
Improving cardiovascular fitness, endurance or flexibility
all work on the same principal as well.
In order for us to develop our ability to think, problem solve
and analyze we must follow the same concept. First we start
with learning the alphabet. Then we learn to read simple words
and then more complex ones and eventually with the proper
stressors we develop the ability to read and write.
Emotions are the same. We learn to
deal with emotional issues in a progressive and gradual manner
based on increasing stress patterns.
The problem arises when stress becomes dis-stress.
Dis-stress is created when you are
placed in a situation that is beyond your ability to deal
with or you perceive it as such. Many people create dis-stress
in their lives unnecessarily. They under or overreact to a
set of circumstances they believe to be out of their control
or threaten their safety in some way. They set themselves
outside of their safety zone and get into a place where they
can no longer cope.
I am sure you can think of a time when
you overreacted to a situation to realize later how silly
it was. We all do it, but we do not have to continue doing
so.
What can a person do to minimize this type of self-induced
dis-stress?
Find your center.
In Tai Chi and other body/mind exercises,
finding your center is vital. Your center is 2 to 3 inches
below your naval in the middle of your body. In Chi Kung and
Tai Chi it is called your Lower Dan Tien. It is your physical
center of gravity as well as your energetic center where Chi
is built up and stored to be used throughout your body to
maintain health and balance. It is the place you focus on
in abdominal breathing in yoga, pilates, Tai Chi and other
holistic exercises. When you perform abdominal breathing and
focus on your Dan Tien, you create calmness within your body
that allows your mind to relax and quickly go into a state
of meditation. You begin to connect with your inner self and
to see the world in a different way. With a little practice
you can stay in your center throughout the day. This is a
calm and comfortable place, a balanced and harmonized place.
You have the ability to think clearly and consciously respond
to events that occur, instead of overreacting to them. You
can stay on course instead of getting thrown off at the smallest
obstacle. You begin to come from a place of inner strength,
in control of yourself and the circumstances around you.
It is a wonderful place to be, a true
place of power. You tend to live in the here and now and do
not allow the external world to control your internal well-being.
Finding your center is easy. It takes a little practice to
maintain. But the benefits are well worth the effort. Find
a body/mind exercise that you enjoy, meditate regularly, 24
minutes per day is often recommended. One minute for every
hour of the day, broken up throughout the day 5 to 10 minutes
at a time will create balance between your inner and outer
worlds.
Stress is a good thing. We all need it. It is when we allow
dis-stress to come into our lives that we get out of balance.
Find your center, stay in it and lead a healthy and happy
life.

BLAME, VICTIMHOOD, RESPONSIBILITY,
AND GUILT

I recently had a truly fascinating
conversation with a friend. We both homeschool our kids and
were enjoying our Tuesday at the Explora Museum in Albuquerque.
It is a fabulous hands-on science educational facility that
offers homeschool science classes to all ages. This is the
second semester that I’ve had Jess enrolled there.
Anyway, it takes us almost 2 hours
to get there from our home north of Santa Fe. So we make it
a full day. Many homeschool families from Santa Fe enjoy these
classes and make the weekly trek. The first classes are at
11. Then we all have lunch together. The next set of classes
are at 1. The kids get to spend time together either in or
out of classes. And the moms get to enjoy one another’s company
in a nice environment.
So yesterday I got to enjoy a wonderful
and very thought provoking conversation with another homeschool
parent. Many of the ideas I am about to share were inspired
by our conversation.
Feeling Guilty and Taking Responsibility
for Things that are Outside of Your Control
How often do things happen and you
suddenly feel like it is your fault? For most people, the
answer is all too often.
Guilt doesn’t serve you. Guilt is like
a hideous disease that infests your life and won’t let go.
It keeps you small, afraid, and in low self esteem. It keeps
you feeling like you are “bad” somehow.
If you are on a conscious spiritual
path – growing, learning, evolving – then one of the primary
tenants is that you learn to be kind. That means not only
to others, but also to yourself. You have to learn to be kind
in your words and actions. And you have to stop feeling guilty
for things that are beyond your control.
But sometimes, despite your best efforts
and intentions, things don’t go well and people get hurt,
or upset, or things simply go a way you had not anticipated.
Feeling guilty about those times does
not serve you. It is counterproductive to your growth and
evolution.
If there was no way for you to anticipate
the outcome, foresee the unexpected, or prevent what happened,
then feeling guilty about it does you no good whatsoever.
And, it isn’t helping the other person or the others involved
in the situation either.
As long as you are feeling guilty about
something, then you are still living in the past. The past
has to be healed so you can live fully in the now.
Some people might misunderstand what
I am trying to say and think I mean that you can do whatever
you want, and regardless of who gets hurt, it is O.K.
That is NOT at all what I am saying.
Conscientious people – those of higher
consciousness - care about others. They care about how their
actions, words, and deeds affect others. They are kind. They
are considerate. They do things to help others. They are not
selfish. They are not self centered. They work to maintain
harmony whenever possible.
But, if you have done all you can as
a conscientious person, and something unforeseen happens,
you have to forgive yourself and move on. You can’t sit around
for days feeling guilty about it. It wasn’t your fault. Stop
blaming yourself.
There is a trick though. It is a lot
easier to stop blaming yourself for things that you could
not have prevented if you are also able to stop blaming others
for things as well.
Blame is for those who are dense (low
vibration), lacking consciousness, and refusing to grow up
and take responsibility.
Everyone, including you, is doing the
best they can under whatever circumstances they are in. No
one is right and no one is wrong. Each is doing what they
feel is right in the moment based on what they have been taught,
the beliefs they hold, the experiences they have had or have
not had. If you can keep that in mind at all times, you will
find yourself being much more kind and compassionate toward
yourself and others. No-one on the planet will ever see everything
exactly as you do. That doesn’t make them wrong. It simply
makes them different. And it would be a bloody boring place
if there weren’t some differences.
It is a complicated issue. Because
if something happens in your life, it is an outer reflection
of what is happening with you inside. So, being responsible
for your own life, you have to ask yourself what you think
or believe (subconsciously) that caused this event to occur?
What is it showing you? You should always take this step in
evaluating every odd situation or person that shows up.
But feeling guilty is an entirely different
matter.
Every moment of every day offers an
opportunity to see who you are, to make decisions, to change,
and to grow. The greatest amount of growth always seems to
happen when things are the most uncomfortable. So, learn from
situations, ask deep questions about why your life is the
way it is.
But please let go of the guilt and
stop blaming yourself and others for the past. Let it be over
already.
Trust me, you will be happier and healthier
if you do.

on the right things (and it’s free.) And I’ve learned a lot
from his various books and other programs.
So, if
you are a musician and really hold music as your dream career,
then check this out. I can’t believe the price is only
$47 through January 31st. Even at double that (the normal
price), you are definitely getting way more than you are paying
for. Mark is notorious for over-delivering and I know this
is no exception. The program looks fabulous and if I had any
musical dreams, I’d definitely get one for myself.

MARKETING
When I’m not homeschooling my kid,
writing a new book, making custom Dancing Dolphin Essences
blends or new essences, I’m working on websites. I’ve been
creating all our sites since 1998. What else is an Industrial
Engineer to do with all her computer experience and expertise?

I’ve been asked by the John Lilly Foundation
to put together a site for them as well.
Several people have been asking lately,
so I’ve decided that for a short time only, I’m making
my website services available to others. If you’ve
always wanted a website and not been sure where to begin,

take on a couple of clients. I handle everything from concept,
to design, creation, publishing to the web, getting it listed
on all the major search engines and directories, getting it
linked to other sites, adding numerous ways to earn money
and it’s continued evolution.
A very wise woman recently asked me
when I first began making Dancing Dolphin Essences. I told
her 1998. She said, “Good. It usually takes about 10 years
before a person really knows what they are talking about in
any industry.” Well the same goes for websites and internet
marketing. After 10 years, I finally really “get” the web
game. I put up a new website at the beginning of December.
By the end of the month, I already had 3 of my targeted keywords
in the top 10 on google searches. Now that is truly saying
something. Across our six sites, we get over 2000 hits a day.
